#Pawties and Events are where anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time. In their tweets they use an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter for #(fill in the blank) pawty or #(event name). #Pawties and Events is where you will find out about the #Pawties taking place on Twitter and where I will point you to the official The Anipal Times #Pawty & Events Calendar. Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now, let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article (oh, and if you don’t know how to #pawty, don’t worry I got you covered—just read this)

Setting sail: en route for the Bahamas
Thursday saw the start of a new annual event at #NipClub—the first Tall Ships Regatta. It was a truly international occasion, with ships from the Americas, Canada and the UK all taking part—as well as one ship which described its Captain and crew simply as being “Three Sheets To The Wind.” The race was slightly delayed while Captains toured the waterfront retrieving crew members from the local bars, but eventually the ships set off, making an elegant sight as they headed for the Bahamas. Sounds of sea shanties floating back towards the shore suggested that the race might not be uneventful. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before pirate ship The Black Paw, captained by @kittehboi, a brigand feared throughout the Caribbean, hove in sight. Sails were hastily trimmed and ships were forced to change course to outrun the pirates, who nevertheless managed to board The Magnificent Pearl and capture Captain @TinyPearlCat, holding her for some time in a Twitmo dungeon.
With Captain Pearl’s ship out of action and the other contenders scattered by the wind, one ship was unaffected by the mayhem. The aptly-named Three Sheets To The Wind, navigating on GPS auto-pilot while its Captain and crew lay passed out somewhere below deck, zigzagged its way across the finish line to win the race. Rival crews staged a furious protest, but Captain @WinstonTabby pointed out that nowhere did the rules say the Captain and crew needed to be conscious at the time, and the result stood. It is believed that several Captains and their crews have vowed revenge next year.
Anipals were greatly honored on Saturday when Her Grace Queen Elizabeth 1 of England accepted their invitation to relocate her Royal Court to #NipClub for the annual Renaissance Faire. Tailors and dressmakers had full order books and worked day and night to ensure all costumes reached a standard fit for royalty. Her Grace’s High Stewards, Sir @TheNascarKitty and the gracious @LadyGreyFox, welcomed guests on her behalf and ensured a generous supply of venison and ale. Queen’s Champion Daffy (@NoCrybabyDoGs) showed great skill and courage with a lance and remained undefeated against all challengers in the jousting contest To celebrate, Minstrel Sir Breeze, a Tudor ancestor of scurvy pirate @kittehboi, caused great delight by ordering ale all round, though individual waitress service by a number of buxom wenches was needed to help knights whose unwieldy armor wouldn’t let them dismount from their horses.
A quick course in Elizabethan language and etiquette was held by Google before the event began, and although a few guests inevitably landed in the Tower of Twitmo, no invasions by the Spanish fleet or plots to install Mary Queen of Scots on the throne of England were detected, and the Tudor Queen was graciously pleased not to order any executions. Led by @TheNascarKitty, guests, many with leaking eyes, joined paws to sing The Parting Glass before reluctantly teleporting back to the 21st cenury, their calendars already noted to look out for Her Grace’s invitation same time next year.
