Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now, let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article (oh, and if you don’t know how to #pawty, don’t worry I got you covered—just read this).

#SpencerBDay

Friday 13 turned out to be a very lucky day for anipals attending @Spencerteddy’s birthday pawty, with a scrumptious array of cayks to choose from and lots of dancing to a lively DJ set from @OllyTed. The prize for the Best Gourmet was won by @mogsbear, who will be receiving a beautiful Hungarian police car. As Paco, @mogsbear’s Mandrill baboon, who was seen at one point sliding across the floor after playing air guitar, is known to be something of a paw-full, the police car may prove to be extremely useful!

#NipClub

After Thursday’s lively celebration of all the anipals with birthdays and gotcha days in July, Saturday saw the take-off of the #NipClub Space Shuttle on its way to the International Space Station. The Shibbering Cheetos (@ShibberingC) got the weekend off to an exhilarating start, playing the first anipal rock gig in space. The band coped flawlessly with zero gravity, and managed to hold on to their weightless instruments with apparent ease. Other anipals found weightlessness more challenging, and while some had great fun turning somersaults and floating around without touching the ground, others found it difficult to keep their noms and drinks under control.

Keeping some anipals under control proved even more difficult, and sekurity had a busy time. @Eddiebabycat tried to spacenap @ShaynaCat, who had to be rescued by @OdyMaltese. A stern telling-off didn’t have the desired effect, and @Eddiebabycat later ran amok with an arsenal of weapons including four paint guns and a giant water-gun. He managed to paintball or soak several #NipClub pawty goers, including @BorisKitty, @TweetingTruman and even #NipClub boss @kingtuttifruiti, before finally being apprehended by Sekurity Officer @IamDaisyDoo. In a statement to sekurity, @kingtuttifruiti confirmed that at 5:15 EDT he had been shot in the rear, which was now decorated with four different colors, and called for @Eddiebabycat to be jailed. There was further drama when @GeorgeTheDuck was kidnapped by @Hookalopes, but was eventually set free on payment of a ransom demand.

The weekend continued with excursions from the International Space Station to a number of nearby planets, and the space shuttle returned safely to #NipClub on Sunday afternoon.

#PreWeddingBBQ

There was a shock in store for the guests who turned up to the beach expecting to share a pre-wedding BBQ with Lexie @Dogstoyevsky and her husband-to-be, Griff of @theGObros—they unexpectedly found themselves at the couple’s wedding! Having decided that a formal wedding wasn’t what they really wanted, they initially planned to elope, but realizing that their big day wouldn’t be complete without their pals, they hit on the idea of springing a surprise on everyone at the BBQ instead.

A live link-up with #NipClub on the International Space Station made it a truly out-of-this-world occasion, with some pals even going so far as to teleport to the beach to wish them well and to enjoy the pawesome noms and drinks. After the short ceremony conducted by @Henryandfriends the guests were treated to the delightful singing of the #hamstachoir, whose musical director @OllyTed had done wonders to prepare them at short notice for the big occasion, before the happy couple left for a brief honeymoon.

#LWP, Friday through Sunday, 20-22 July 2012. Join hosts @FreshOtis and @MickeyShortTail as they gather all Twitter pals for their monthly Lake With Petie (#LWP) adventure. #LWP started in 2010, as anipals gathered to send healing paws and energy to @PetieTheCat—some even pitched virtual tents on Petie’s cabin porch, and the rest is history. Anipals love #LWP—it is one of the best ways we show support for one another. This month’s #LWP will have a great campfire theme and pawty goers will enjoy some potato sack racing! #TeddyOlympics, 30 June -21 July 2012. Hosts @OllyTed, @SpencerTeddy and @MarshallSheldon will have a hard time judging between the pawesome entries for this year’s #TeddyOlympics (@TeddyOlympics). Standards are always high, but this year’s competitors have really raised the bar. All events have now taken place, and the medal-winners will be decided on by July 20. #SpyPawty, Sunday, 29 July 2012 1-4 p.m. EST, USA. Hosts @NancyCakeFace, @Cats_Meows and @TweetingTruman invite you #SpyPawty. Join these fun group as they celebrate @4CatsStrapSki’s (Bode) birthday. Pawty goers are invited to dress as his or her favorite spy—be creative, have some fun. Everyone will gather together for some great spy trivia with prizes, and some tasty treats and delectable drinks, fancy dancing from some wonderful DJ’s and their musical mixes.
