#Pawties and Events are where anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time. In their tweets they use an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter for #(fill in the blank) pawty or #(event name). #Pawties and Events is where you will find out about the #Pawties taking place on Twitter and where I will point you to the official The Anipal Times #Pawty & Events Calendar. Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now, let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article (oh, and if you don’t know how to #pawty, don’t worry I got you covered—just read this).
#BlogPawty Once again, host @BlogPaws welcomed anipals and encouraged everyone to gather together to tweet and enjoy a lovely two-hour #BlogPawty. On Tuesday, 5 June 2012, anipals had a fun time at #BlogPawty to network with @BlogPaws attendees, brands and speakers. It was a great way to virtually meet all of the animals and humans who will be meeting in person at @BlogPaws, held 21-23 June 2012. Everyone attended this gathering for this online #pawty where social media was used to spread the news about the happenings and events taking place during the BlogPaws conference. #BlogPawty was fun in that many of the conference attendees joined in the fun, tweets and questions flew all over Twitter, and everyone learned more about @BlogPaws—including that it will open with @TillmanSkates, Norman the Scooter Dog and @NaturalBalance, as they join forces to welcome everyone (furry or otherwise) to the great fun event! Everyone who joined in #BlogPawty had a wonderful time, got a chance to play for different prizes and interact with @BlogPaws speakers including @PetFinder, @LenaWest, @HillsVet and many, many more (click here to see the full @BlogPaws speaker panel). Some #BlogPawty goers made connections that they will continue to grow once they circle their wagons in Salt Lake City—where this year’s summer @BlogPaws event will be held. #KEMagicalDay On Sunday & Monday, 3-4 June 2012, big wedding bells rang out in the air as anipals gather together to celebrate the beloved matrimony of @KatiePops_L and @ErnieThePug. Guests came together, 9 p.m. BST, UK, to partake in a lovely beach-side ceremony held on the island of Mauritius. It was a joyous, sun-filled event, where the whole wedding pawty glowed while the bride and groom exchanged their vows under the loving guidance of wedding officiant @Debs2606. @DoggyMolly, Chief Paw Maid, and @TommyPug, Best Man, helped settled the last minute nerves of @KatiePops_L and @ErnieThePug—and when it was time, the bride and groom looked divine, glowing from the inside out with their love for each other. @KatiePops_L wore a beautiful off-the-shoulder knee length wedding gown with a lovely jewel encrusted crown and flowing veil; while @ErnieThePug sported a crisp white tuxedo—they both looked stunning. After the ceremony was complete, the bride and groom exchanging their eternal love for each other, the beach side celebration really kicked it up a notch. Anipals joined the new bride and groom in a truly delightful and fantastic beach barbeque where the delectable menu was prepared by the talented @AWPCatering (website here). Guests stayed late in to the night, enjoying the tasty dishes, dancing to some wonderful tunes and just plain celebrating the wonder of anipals in love! @KatiePops_L and @ErnieThePug wanted to thank everyone who joined in the festivities! #AnipalProm On Friday, 8 June 2012, anipals gathered with @NikePurrfektCat, who hosted a fun anipal prom! It was just like high school prom—except for anipals, and #AnipalProm even had a Mid-Summer Night’s Dream theme. #AnipalProm was fun to sit and anipal watch, as one-by-one pawty attendees, along with their prom dates filed in to the event—some donned formal wear, others in black tie, with the ladies in gowns and cocktail dresses, and the more daring showed up au natural! #AnipalProm was a joy—everyone had a great time and pawty attendees met up with some of their pals, dined on some delicious noms and drinks, and swayed, and stomped their paws, under the stars. I even spotted some anipals smooching in darkly lit and romantic grottoes—like I said, it was definitely a great time. Oh and there were some events, just like in human’s proms—a number of awards where given out: dance contest winners were @LilyLuWhoT and @ToughTeddyBear; honorary prom King and Queen went to @PetietheCat and @Pandafur; couples prom King and Queen went to @Rockythedog and @Queen_Greta; individual prom Queen went to @3PhiBotticelli; and individual prom King went to @TommyPug. #AnipalProm was a truly fun and novel event—anipals all over the globe want to thank @NikePurrfektCat, and her team of helpers, for her clever and fabulous #AnipalProm pawty–read more about the prom here!

#FairyTailWed Pawty Another great wedding was held, this time on Saturday, 9 June 2012. Anipals got themselves spiffed up, brushed down their fur; others smoothed down their feathers, and came out to celebrate the wedding of @Cassie_Spaniel and @AlfieLuvsCassie. #FairyTailWed pawty-goers gathered at 4 p.m. BST, UK for the lovely ceremony, which was held at Westminster Abbey. #FairyTailWed was a grand event—the maid of honor, @Keely_Bobs; chief pawmaid, @BillySpringer, along with best men, @PuppyNumber7 and @MrKiplingwoof, led the procession, all glorious, the ladies donned in pink dresses and the men in their top hats and tails; every anipal settled in once @GuntherGrunts started to officiate over the ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the whole place—#FairyTailWed was filled with loving and kind vows and even had some great jet fly overs to announce the union. Post the ceremony a glorious reception was held at the home, Cirencester Park–The Bathurst Estate, of the bride and groom’s dear friend @MyNameIsSweep. Anipals enjoyed themselves immensely, and had a grand time nomming the tasty food that was prepared by @AWPcatering. @Cassie_Spaniel and @AlfieLuvsCassie send everyone their deepest thanks for attending #FairyTailWed. #NipClub Monthly Pawty On Saturday and Sunday 9-10 June 2012, anipals joined paws, feathers, fins, scales, and what have you to help raise the virtual roof for the monthly #NipClub pawty. #NipClub Monthly (@NCMonthly) pawty host @GeorgeTheDuck welcomed everyone, while @FlaCatLady lovingly started the pawty by honoring all anipals who have recently passed on to Rainbow Bridge. Anipals, donned in safari outfits, came out to celebrate the continuation of a monthly pawty blowout designed to let everyone blow off a little steam while raising awareness and funds for a great animal cause. Things really got going when the musical talent started playing and spinning—causing pawty goers to get all hungry and thirst. Luckily, there were some delicious noms cooked up and served with flair by the fabulous #NipClub barktenders. Anipals had a great time out in the safari—there were some great quizzes and prizes, and even a fun little “Where George B at in da Safari” game. Even the Sekurity team made a big splash, helping to keep away spammers and banana tossing monkeys—and helping bail out some of the anipals that got tossed in the clinker for bringing said monkey in to #NipClub in the first place (looks sheepishly away from the typewriter).
But, all the #NipClub frivolity wasn’t just for fun—oh no, it was for a good cause. Anipals came out to help #NipClub raise awareness and funds for the NY Abandoned Angels Rescue of New York, USA. #NipClub selected the NY Abandoned Angels Rescue (@NYCockerRescue) for this month’s animal-based charity for all of the good work that they do—and to help them continue on in their mission. NY Abandoned Angels Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of cocker spaniels and other dogs in need of loving forever homes. This great organization will not reject any dog due to age or health and they are willing to accept dogs who have some temperament and/or medical issues. NY Abandoned Angels Rescue relies solely on donations, whether through adoption or simple generosity—like #NipClub. Since NY Abandoned Angels Rescue has limited resources, they give priority to Cocker Spaniels and other dogs in local kill shelters who are in danger of being destroyed. With all of the great pawtying done at #NipClub, there was roughly $1,700 raised to help out NY Abandoned Angels Rescue and their much-in-need of assistance doggies.
Yup, this month’s #NipClub was a riot, where some good spirited fun was had and we helped out animals in need. Those magic makers at #NipClub really know how to throw a pawty. #OnGPawty Saturday, 16 June 2012. Join host @InformedFerret, 4-11 p.m. Eastern, USA, for the the third annual Outlaws and Gangsters Pawty. #OnGPawty will again be a great way for anipals to gather to show their support for The Hearts of Ohio Ferret Rescue and Association, which helps seniors ferrets. Also, this year #OnGPawty will also help out Skye’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for the rehabilitation of injured wildlife to be returned back into the wild. Dress up in your finest outlaw or gangster avi and come pawty with @InformedFerret (Manny and Marcuz). Join #OnGPawty, enjoy some music, food and prizes! RSVP here.
#TeddyOlympics 30 June -21 July 2012. Hosts @OllyTed, @SpencerTeddy and @MarshallSheldon celebrate the Olympics, fuzzy style, by hosting a #TeddyOlympics (@TeddyOlympics) pawty. Join the hosts as they get things going with their third annual #TeddyOlympics! There will be some fun things to do—jump, jive, wail and maybe even high-step, backstroke, jump hurdles and skip to the loo. #GSBR 30 June 2012. Host @SkeeterTheTabby is inviting everyone out for a little fun—join him at the Great Summer Beach Race, #GSBR. What is #GSBR, well, it’s a virtual road, er beach race. Pawty goers, get ready to kick up some sand with your dune buggy—vroom vroom! In the spirit of all safe, virtual, race driving, #GSBR will avoid obstacles while having fun zooming along the beach. #GSBR is a great way to use your imagination and have fun.
