#Pawties and Events are where anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time. In their tweets they use an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter for #(fill in the blank) pawty or #(event name). #Pawties and Events is where you will find out about the #Pawties taking place on Twitter and where I point you to the official The Anipal Times #Pawty & Events Calendar. Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article:

#NipClub On Thursday 12 May 2011, 4PM-Midnight Eastern, USA, a special one-year anniversary #pawty was held to celebrate the one-year anniversary of #NipClub. #Pawty goers of all kinds, furry, fuzzy, feathered, finned and even futuristic joined host @KingTuttiFruiti, and the various members of this fun group of anipals, in celebrating the success of #NipClub. Every anipal that joined in the #Nipclub fun had some great drinks and noms. After all the #pawty-goers ate and drank the delicious treats it was time to get down–and did they ever. The #NipClub #pawtyiers flapped and swayed, and shook, and boogied to some great music, and man was it a sight to see (I even think there was a streaker or three–streaking through the dance floor happens a lot at #NipClub, it’s one of the things that makes this weekly #pawty so much fun!). Let’s take a peek at the one-year #NipClub anniversary video–you’ll enjoy all of the great things that comprise this team of fun #pawty makers:

The one year #pawty was a celebration to remember, with some great prizes given away and everyone raised their paddles and donated funds to help a great philanthropic cause (Blind Cat Rescue (BCR)).  The BCR is a501(c)3 animal rescue that provides a safe place for blind cats that were deemed un-adoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they are blind. If you missed #Nipclub, but still would like to make a donation to the BCR, please click here. #TrooperBash On Saturday-Sunday, 14-15 May 2011 #TrooperBash host @BloodhoundNDots held a Twitter #pawty to raise funds for Furever Dachshund Rescue (@4EverDoxiRescue), and specifically a little Dachshund named Trooper (read about Trooper here). @BloodhoundNDots wanted to help raise awareness of Furever Dachshund Rescue, a non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes abandoned, neglected and stray dachshunds–and #TrooperBash, with it’s mission to help Trooper, certainly did that. Anipals, donned in their healthcare-inspired outfits, attended this fun medical-themed #pawty; and joined together to let their fur (or scales) down and let lose to have fun for a good cause.  The #TrooperBash menu was particularly tasty, filled with great delicious treats–anipals ate themselves in to a code barooooo (that’s dog-speak for, “wowzer, I ate the whole thing!”), luckily there were plenty of #pawty goers dressed as doctors to help out.

Anipals who attended the #pawty had a great time at #TrooperBash and learned a great deal about Trooper. Like most anipals, Trooper wants to be loved but has had tough go of it–from a shelter to a rescue to surgery (Trooper is having operations to repair his broken right leg, broken right rear leg, fractured left rear leg, a broken tail and pelvis). With the help of #TrooperBash, which raised nearly $1,100, and a lot of physical therapy, soon Trooper will be able to frolic and play. @BloodhoundNDots and @4EverDoxiRescue want to send their thanks to all of the anipals that attended #TrooperBash–if you were unable to attend and are interested in donating to Trooper’s, and other Dachshund’s, future care, please click here.  Also, @BloodhoundNDots invite you to visit their blog to get more detailed information about #TrooperBash!

#PawPawty Throughout the weekend of 21-22 May 2011 the end-all be-all of all anipal #pawties, #PawPawty, hosted by @FrugalDougal, will be coming to Twitter.
