#Pawties and Events are where anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time. In their tweets they use an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter for #(fill in the blank) pawty or #(event name). #Pawties and Events is where you will find out about the #Pawties taking place on Twitter and where I point you to the official The Anipal Times #Pawty & Events Calendar. Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article:

#SciFiPawty was this month’s official #PawPawty–and boy was it out-of-this-world! On Saturday, 26 March 2011, @BorisKitty hosted this wild shindig where anipals from all parts of the universe and beyond gathered to have a great time. These two great #pawties united and helped bring in Spring with a big roar. Anipals, dressed as their favorite science fiction creation nommed on some mighty tasty space food, drank some spooky drinks and danced to the great DJs and Da Shibbering Cheetos (@ShibberingC) band like, well, like a Young Frankenstein! But, the fun wasn’t just reserved for eating, drinking and dancing–no no, @BorisKitty had some great prizes lined up too. There were a number of ways to win prizes, including the traditional answering questions–but #SciFiPawty also had a twist.  #Pawty goers who had more chances to win simply by donating to the #SciFiPawty charity One by One Cat Rescue, Inc., Pennsylvania, USA–for every $5 an anipal donated they were entered into the contests to win some of the great sponsored prizes (an autographed Go-Go’s CD, a Jane Wiedlin’s autographed set of Lady Robotika comic book and a Bissell SpotBot Pet carpet cleaner). Over $1,600 was donated to One by One Cat Rescue, Inc., during the #SciFiPawty. “I am trying to halp out all da kitties over at One by One Cat Rescue and show em how much dey iz appreciated,” said @BorisKitty. “Dey iz a small, no-kill shelter but dey sure doz do a lot for kitties in ma area!” It’s not too late to make a donation and change the life of a little kitty–if you would like to make a donation, click here. Anipals everywhere would like to thank @BorisKitty for putting together such a pawesome and fun #pawty–and thank @FrugalDougal for continuing his outreach to help animals all over the world.
