Mai mom and I recently read The Zen of Max by Lou Belcher. It’s a furry cute book about life, love, laughter, hyjinks and lessons learned from da 16 years she spent living wiff her kitteh Max. Dat kitteh Max had quite a big personality!

One of mai fav parts was da section about Max and his routines. I won’t spoil anyfing fur ewe, but let’s just say dat when Max wants to go to bed, Max IS going to bed! We anipals love our routines, don’t we?

Dis book was touching wiffout being too sappy, enlightening wiffout being preachy and nostalgic wiffout making mai mom too sad. In other words — it was purrfect. Max’s mom kept sum fings private, like Max’s trip over da RB, which made dis book a lighter read.

I wish I cud haff known Max. Even tho I am a dog and he was a kitteh, I fink we wud haff been furriends. I can tell from da stories about him dat he had a healthy sense of adventure and fun as well.

Mai mom and I give dis book four tail wags. It was a purrfect book to curl up wiff in front of da fireplace wiff mai mom on a cold nite. Max’s life story is furry entertaining and ewe can really tell how much is momma loved him.
