Murder Past Due

Murder Past Due (Cat in the Stacks Mystery) by Miranda James is a good read.  College librarian architect Charlie Harris walks his Maine coon cat Diesel on a leash. His cats, books and border Justin are Charlie’s only companions.

A former classmate of Charlie arrives at his house, arrogant Godfrey Priest, a noted author of gore. Someone kills Godfrey. Charlie realizes everyone in town seemed to hate haughty Godfrey with several having strong motives, but he ponders who had the opportunity and the ultimate desire as he and Diesel try to help the police who want no help from him or his cat.

Murder Past Due popped up when I logged into Amazon one day. Mom was a librarian years ago, and the most interesting character is a big Maine Coon alter. The book is well written, had a few plot turns and really held my interest.

M chose dat book for us to read. We have it now, but haven’t started it yet. She has this silly idea that she has to finish the book she’s reading first.
