Lexie enjoying her sunpuddle
This is an interview in the continuing series “Talk to the Hand” which is about the typist behind the anipal(s). I crossed The Pond to find Lexie (@Dogstoyevsky). I would love to introduce you to Lexi’s mum, Wendy, otherwise known as Coop. She comes from Essex in England, UK.
What is/are your passion/hobbies?
My passions are: belly dancing, Lexie (of course), Justin (my partner), and our boat, Atlantis!
What is your favorite word?
Serendipity.
What is your least favorite word?
Greed.
Lexie with Pawpawty prizes
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
The seasons, music, the sea, autumn leaves.
What turns you off?
Cruelty, jealousy, greed, vanity.
What sound or noise do you love?
The wind in the trees, a belly dance drum.
What sound or noise do you hate?
The alarm clock.
What is your occupation?
I’m a web designer and part-time belly dance teacher.
(Maggie: I asked Wendy if you have to be skinny to belly dance. She said having hips is good since the motion is created with the hips. So, that means fluffy ladies should belly dance! *pictures Mom shaking her booty, scary*)
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Racing driver.
What is your favorite color?
Red.
Who is your anipal?
Lexie (@Dogstoyevsky) my beautiful border terrier girl.
How did you decide to portray her personalities? e.g., is she an aspect of your personality, quirky things your pet does.
Lexie is an amazing wonderful creature (to me). She’s a bit like her mum (me); gets into scrapes, bit rough round the edges and wears her heart on her sleeve. You can see her enjoying herself in her photos. Would you believe me if I said I don’t write for Lexie? She writes for herself by channelling her thoughts through me. I am neither a) mad nor b) sad! Ok, I AM but who cares!
Do you have an anipal shelter/rescue that is important to you?
I am 100% committed The Dogs Trust, a well-known organization in the UK. They are a fantastic organisation and I sponsor a dog with them who can never leave their shelter due to behaviour problems. I also support the Cat Protection League in remembrance of my beloved cat Jim who came from them, but has sadly gone to Rainbow Bridge. I also love to support all the pawpawties as much as I can with donations, prizes or helping Lexie with her DJ’ing!
Any additional comments?
I love all the anipals on Twitter and have made some truly wonderful friends. I have never met such a wonderfully caring, kind and funny bunch of pals! Oh and I love The Anipal Times of course
.
