#Pawties and Events are where anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time. In their tweets they use an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter for #(fill in the blank) pawty or #(event name). #Pawties and Events is where you will find out about the #Pawties taking place on Twitter and where I point you to the official The Anipal Times #Pawty & Events Calendar. Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article:
#LexandMaddy Pawty held 15 August 2010, celebrated the nuptials of @LexingtonthePup and @MaddyBassett, two wonderful and generous doggies. Anipals of all sizes gathered to wish the couple well, nosh on some delectable tid-bits and boogie their tooshies to some smooth grooves played by #pawty DJ’s. Lexington and Madeline graciously asked that in-lieu of presents, #pawty goers make donations to their favorite charity, including contributions to the philanthropic organization they support, NACER. These beautiful newlyweds asked that I tell you that NACER (Network for Animal Care, Education, Resources) is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization supporting literacy and learning, animal welfare and free animal sterilization in the poorest areas of Southern Mexico, in Quintana Roo and Yucatan. Everyone who joined the #LexandMaddy pawty had a great time while the couple glowed in the love and well-wishes of all of their Twitter and Facebook friends and family. Hoist your glass of champagne, or water bowl, and wish this lovely couple a long, healthy and happy union!
#BarkWorld Pawty 20-22 August 2010, hosted by @BarkWorldExpo spanned a weekend full of activities! I can personally tell you, since I flew to Atlanta, GA, USA, for this fabulous event (and boy are my arms tired…okay, that’s some mediocre shtick, but it fits!) how fabulous and informative this event truly was. #BarkWorld was an exciting, action-packed social media event for pet owners and businesses that utilize social media applications to communicate to their friends, family, clients and would be all of the above. #BarkWorld was also for those that want to learn more about what pets are doing online and learn how they, too, can be a part of this growing online community. Lots of anipals attended #BarkWorld, including their wonderful keynote speakers: @CarieGRLS from @HumaneSociety, @FrugalDougal’s staff Lynn Haigh, @SloaneKelley from BFG Communications, and @NatalieatPETCO of Petco; and also included a live 2-hour #YappyHour tweet-up by @ShibberingC (Shibbering Cheetos) that helped raise nearly $500 for the @AtlantaHumane society. #BarkWorld was well attended by a number of anipals we all know and love, and it was so jam-packed that I will have a large post event wrap-up in The Anipal Times later this month.
