Pack your bags and reserve your spot, BlogPaws West, a blog-focused conference for animal lovers, is coming to Denver, CO, USA 9-11 September 2010! Due to the great success of the original BlogPaws, held in Columbus, OH, USA in April of this year, founder Caroline Golon (staff to @RomeotheCat ) wanted to continue expanding the blogging community, “The first event was so fun, so inspiring and so educational that we wanted to do it again!” Registration is open for this fabulous two-day event, so plan to attend and get inspired by the great keynote speakers and instructive hands-on learning sessions.

Who Should Attend

“BlogPaws West will be similar to the first BlogPaws in that it’s designed to help pet bloggers, brands and anyone involved in social media increase their influence or exposure online. There will be a fantastic education component, dynamic speakers, lots of time for networking and of course fun!” said Ms. Golon.  The typical BlogPaws attendee is a dedicated “pet person” wanting to network with like-minded people and explore new methods and technology designed to help them become better bloggers.

Speakers

Mike Arms

Ms. Golon planned every detail of BlogPaws with registrants in mind. “We have a line-up of terrific speakers hand-picked to provide top insight and encouragement in every session. Each session is designed for lots of interaction, discussion and Q&A. You’ll leave each session with a list of new ideas, action items and excitement about the possibilities that await you. We’re thrilled that our keynote speaker will be Mike Arms ( @MikeArms ), president of the Helen Woodward Animal Center. He is a fantastic, inspiring speaker! BlogPaws West has speakers on everything from SEO to book publishing to writing essentials to pet photography to the nuts and bolts of blogging platforms to social media for animal rescues.”

Read all about all of the talented BlogPaws West presenters on their Speakers page.  Also, BlogPaws West has some fabulous sponsors including Petfinder, Bissell, Pedigree, Wellness, Rachael Ray Nutrish, World’s Best Cat Litter, Petsmart, Iams/Eukanuba, American Animal Hospital Association, Found Animals and many, many more. You can view all of of the BlogPaws West sponsors by visiting their homepage and scrolling down the right hand side.

What to Expect

Come to BlogPaws West and you will mix and mingle with seasoned bloggers and social media experts, learning about what everyone is doing right and strategizing ways to enhance your blog’s presence. “The sessions and networking are designed to facilitate great conversations and actionable learning, complete with tips and tricks of the trade to help all of us reach our blogging goals,” said Ms. Golon.  The goal for BlogPaws is to create an opportunity for the online pet community to come together for networking, education and fun. “We hope to continue what started at BlogPaws East, which was to create the opportunity for people to make connections, partnerships, brainstorm and help each other achieve their online goals.”  There are some new and outstanding events planned for BlogPaws West, like  their special track for veterinarians who want to get more involved in social media; and a pet blogger awards ceremony.  “We’re so thrilled that the Dogtime Pettie awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding pet bloggers, will take place on Saturday afternoon,” said Ms. Golon. “The Petties are the first ever pet blogging awards and we have 16 finalists. The winners in each of four categories will be announced at BlogPaws.”

A large part of what BlogPaws is about is giving back to the community, therefore a portion of the conference proceeds go to animal rescues. The BlogPaws signature movement, Be the Change for Pets, began at the first BlogPaws, and continues at the West conference. Expect to see an event that celebrates the amazing things happening in Ms. Golon’s community, and get ideas that can help you be the change in your own backyard.

Logistics

The Grand Hyatt

BlogPaws West will begin with a fun welcome reception at 6PM on Thursday, 9 September, run through the next two days and will conclude with a networking party Saturday evening which lasts until 10PM.  The cost for attending this highly comprehensive three-day conference is $149, so register now to reserve your spot at this great event! Sadly, M won’t be there. But, she’ll be there in spirit and anxious to hear about all the new ideas when you all return. Have fun!

I’m so looking forward to this. Fred and Treasure and I are going to have the best time. I can’t wait to meet in person some of the pals I talk to every day and their humans. Look for my blue stroller!
