#Pawties and events are where anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time.  In their tweets they use an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter for #(fill in the blank) pawty or #(event name).  #Pawties and Events is where you will find out about the #Pawties taking place on Twitter and where I point you to the official The Anipal Times #Pawty & Events Calendar. Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article:

#NipClub is hosted by @KingTuttiFruiti and is held every Thursday starting at 7PM Eastern.  At the 24 June 2010 #NipClub anipals gathered to #pawty and celebrate @GeorgeTheDuck’s “Gotcha Day,” the day he went to his forever home. It was an amazing event! Thanks to @Kyba and @TheDucksTypist, who helped #pawtiers dress as ducks, to honor and celebrate George’s special day. #NipClub is a new event, originally a club specializing in cat nip products, that has expanded to incorporate other items to welcome all species of anipals. #NipClub is a fun and socially active anipal community with a talented team of anipals (including @FlaCatLady, @TinyPearlCat, @TheNascarKitty, @GeorgeTheDuck, @CathyKeisha, @KittehBoi, @BunnyJeanCook and @MaggieTKat) creating a “Cheers” type environment where everyone knows your name. #NipClub hopes to expand to the UK during Friday evenings 7PM-10PM BST (Friday afternoon 2PM-5PM EDT, a “happy hour” #NipClub). While #NipClub is a wonderful social event, it also serves to help animal charities including Animals in Crisis and Heart of Ohio Ferret Rescue. #PawPawty @FrugalDougal hosted his monthly #PawPawty with a June High Fashion Model theme, where anipals dressed to perfection to “strike a pose” for fun and charity. Dougal kicked off the June #PawPawty by honoring all anipals that had recently passed to Rainbow Bridge, and by also asking all #pawtiers to remember all the anipals who were sick or injured and in need of help. #PawPawty kicked in to high-fashion mode with glamorous anipals strutting their stuff, nomming on excellent food and drink and raising over $1,000 for Good Mews; a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. As with all #PawPawties, a great time was had by all anipals! If you were unable to attend this month’s #PawPawty, never fear. You can get your souvenir at @JavaTheCat’s #PawPawty store, where the profits go to anipal charities!

#HideyHole Pawty @InformedFerret (ferrets named James and Manny) celebrated James’ 10th birthday and their ferret blog turning one year old by hosting #HideyHole pawty. The name #HideyHole is because ferrets like to hide treasures; and since ferrets are outlawed in California, Hawaii, and New Zealand, the #pawty took on an “outlaw” feel, with anipals dressing up as gangsters. @InformedFerret’s #HideyHole pawty was a huge hit with great help from @GeorgeTheDuck, @FergusTheDog, @JazzyDaCat and @FlaCatLady; all helping with music, food, and drinks.  #HideyHole pawty raised awareness about senior ferrets in shelters. Ferrets over the age of six are considered seniors because they slow down and many get diseases that can cost a lot of money to treat. The #pawty helped to raise $500 for the senior ferrets at Heart of Ohio Ferret Rescue and Association. #HideyHole pawty was a great time and we learned a lot about ferrets!
