In my other #Pawty Behind the Scenes, we took a close look at the grandaddy of all anipal Twitter #pawties, #PawPawty.  In this piece, we are going to focus in on some of the other #pawties that rock our Twitterverse.

#DudeFest

I packed my camping gear and drove to Domingo River, the hometown of #DudeFest, and met @Brutusthedane to talk about his infamous dude-based #pawty.  Sitting by the campfire, I asked Brutus how he came up with the idea for #Dudefest.  “Like most things on Twitter, #DudeFest started out as a conversation, about some of the boy dogs getting together to go camping, to fart, tell jokes and smoke cigars. The first #DudeFest was a few hours of fun and anipals liked the idea of being ‘dudes,’ so we decided to do it again and make it a real Twitter pawty.”

Brutus explained that the first #DudeFest was to celebrate @BrunotheDog’s move to Maine. The second was to celebrate @HanktheDoggy’s birthday and to raise money for an animal charity of his choice, AC Paw.  “So far #DudeFest has helped raise over $1,500 for animal charities, and we have plans to expand upon that in the future. Because #DudeFest is becoming larger, it requires a lot more anipals to help make it dude-a-licious,” said Brutus, “I’ve listed them on the #DudeFest blogsite.”

As we roasted marshmallows, Brutus explained, “#DudeFest continues to grow. We have our regular location,” he said as he spread his arms around the campsite, “so we can toot and howl as loud as we want!  Now that the main #Dudefest organizers are also the members of Shibbering Cheetos, @ShibberingC, they will headline the event from now on.”  As we put out the remnants of our campfire, I asked Brutus about the next #Dudefest #pawty. “I’m so excited! It’s scheduled for 5-6th June and it’s still in the planning stages. It’s special and will honor @Frugaldougal, because he has done so much for anipals and raises money for animal organizations.”   So, get your “dude” outfit cleaned because #Dudefest time is right around the corner. Niqqi #Pawties

Next I headed to Chicago to meet with @Niqqi to talk about her #pawties.  I asked Niqqi how she became involved in #pawties. “I was surprised myself when the first #pawty materialized!  Actually, they’re not my ideas exclusively, but fascinating #pawty suggestions from anipals!  I help make them real, in a virtual kind of way!”  Niqqi’s #pawties are not affiliated with any charity. They are adventure-based events where anipals have a good time solving problems and rescuing anipals in distress, with the goal of team work!

“The first one, #subpawty, came up because my dad builds real submarines as a hobby and anipals suggested going on a submarine ride, and so we went to the Hawaiian Islands.  Mom drew some submarines and fitted the anipals who RSVPd and off we went on a video adventure of the coral reefs.  Next was #LochNessPawty in Scotland, searching for the Loch Ness monster, where we #pawtied until we found the beast!  Then there was #MummyPawty (click for video!), a great adventure down the Egyptian Nile where we boarded a cruise ship and toured ancient sites.  We just held #Area51 (click for video!) where we rescued a Laika, the first dog launched in to space.”

“After the #Area51 adventure, anipals tweeting provided a sign and helped me come up with the idea of hosting a time travel #pawty.  So, the next #pawty is a Time Traveling Twitter Anipal Adventure!
