Did Someone Say #Pawty?

Did you know that anipals party on Twitter? They do, and not only do they party…sometimes they party with *gasp* humans. Yep, right in the open on the Internet for the world to see! When anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time they call it a pawty with an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter for #(fill in the blank) pawty. Pawtying is really quite enjoyable and the #pawties have creative themes for which you can change your avatar to match the theme and join in the fun.  Most #pawties use an online invite service like Tweetvite for you to RSVP so the host knows who’s attending, the quantity of (virtual) food and drink needed, etc.

There are many #pawties taking place on Twitter. Some #pawties are extremely large, like Frugaldougal‘s infamous #pawpawty, and some are small where a few anipals get together to drool over bacon (a.k.a. Sydpie’s #pigfest). Anyway you cut it, #pawting is a wonderful way to get to know other anipals and humans, and that is why we are asking for your help in collecting #pawty information. #Pawty Reports

Now that you know to visit the #Pawty-Calendar to get the latest #pawty-related information lets review some of the recent anipal #pawties. #BlogPawPawty, held March 4, 2010, was a fantastic Twitter #pawty that helped raise awareness of the Blog Paws expo. Anipals and humans mingled, and virtually danced, ate and drank the night away!

#SciFiPawty

BorisKitty held #SciFiPawty, a science fiction themed soirée on March 13, 2010, to celebrate his human’s birthday and to help raise awareness and donations for the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Inc. Last, but certainly not least is Frugaldougal’s St. Patrick’s day #pawpawty where anipals and humans dressed in green and danced a jig for The Potcakes Foundation of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

#TopSecret Mission

One upcoming #pawty to keep an eye on is #TopSecretMission hosted by Niqqi and SmokeyPoodle… it’s so secret that I can’t tell you anything about it other than to make sure you RSVP!
